Jennifer

Jennifer

Jennifer is a Reno native. She began working for A Plus Animal Hospital in May of 1997 starting as a kennel attendant, later transferring to the front desk. She attended UNR full – time while working and earned her Bachelor’s of Science in International Business from UNR and is now the Hospital Director for the Sparks branch of A plus. Pictured with her is her Golden Retriever, Jake. At home, she also has another Golden and two kitties. She enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time with her family.

Licensed Veterinary Technicians

Laura C

Laura C.

Laura is a Licensed Veterinary Technician for A Plus Animal Hospital. While working full time for A Plus since 2006, she also volunteers many of her weekends at Sierra Safari Zoo assisting to care for all of the wildlife. Laura has a passion for knowledge and loves to learn. She has a Bachelor’s of Science from UNR in Biology, her Veterinary Technician License, and has plans to return to school for a Master’s Degree. She is pictured with her fish, but also has 2 Miniature Pinschers and a kitty at home.

Laura is originally from Carson City, though she attended college in Oregon and has returned to Nevada to live in Reno. She was hired in April of 2006 as a receptionist but her passion was to be hands on with the animals. She had previously taken some animal husbandry classes from Oregon State and completed TMCC’s Technician program in 2008. Laura is now one of A Plus Animal Hospital’s Licensed Veterinary Technicians. Pictured with her is her sweet Lab, Guage.

Jessica

Jessica

Jessica began in 2006 as a Pet Care Attendant but quickly began to show avid interest and great aptitude for veterinary assisting and transferred departments. She attended TMCC for their Technician program and graduated in 2008 as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. When away from work, Jessica has her own menajerie to take care of at home. She has two American Staffordshire Terriers, Samson and Sherman, and three kitties, Delilah, Hecubus, and Milo (pictured with her).

Sean

Sean

Sean began as a kennel attendant in June 2007 . He has aspirations to become a veterinarian and is in the process of taking the pre-requisite classes necessary for vet school. He has been married for 11 years to a wife whom is also in the health industry as an RN. He is pictured with his cute puppy Clairie, but also has a Basset Hound at home named Betsy.

Jenny

Jenny is a Reno native who began with A Plus in June of 2007. She began as a pet care attendant and has transferred to veterinary assistant. She is currently taking college courses and intends to enroll in the Veterinary Technician program at TMCC to become licensed. She is pictured with her kitty, Sunny but at home she has four more cats and a dog as well.
Teri

Teri

Meet Teri. Teri has been with A Plus Animal Hospital since October of 2005. While she began as a Pet Care Attendant, she has since transferred departments to become a Veterinary Assistant. Teri enjoys gardening, BBQ’s with her family, and taking her dogs, Jager and Zoey for hikes. She also has a little rascal of a kitty named Keira.

Receptionists

Damaris

Damaris

Damaris is one of A Plus Animal Hospital’s excellent receptionists. She began with our veterinary hospital in October 2004 and has worked in the kennel as well as the front desk. Damaris attends college classes and is working towards completion of a business degree from UNR. Additionally, Damaris has the added talent of being bi-lingual. She speaks English and Spanish fluently.

Angela

Angela

Angela is also a native of Reno, Nevada. She began working with our front office team in October of 2007 and she is loving it. Though she comes from the human side of healthcare and record keeping, she has decided that animals may be more her speed. At home, she has a Golden Retriever and a cute Kitty, Barkley.

Krystal

Krystal

Krystal is a Reno/ Sparks area native and a graduate from Sparks High School. She was able to graduate early from Sparks High and attend some early veterinary medicine classes. Her future plans include returning full time to college for a Bachelor’s degree and moving forward into Veterinary Medicine. Pictured with her is her young St. Bernard puppy, Ruffes.

Boarding Personnel

 Joan

Joan

Joan moved to Reno from Washington State in 2006. Upon moving, she decided on a change in field from human to animal. In Washington, Joan worked in an assisted living facility. She has developed tremendous patience and compassion over the years and is now sharing this with our patients. Joan shares her home with her two sweet kitties, Leo (pictured) and Phoebe.

Katrina

Katrina

Katrina began working for A Plus in April of 2009. In addition to the time spent here, she also volunteers at the Sierra Safari Zoo and attends college. Katrina is currently working on a degree in Social Work and Animal Assisted Therapy. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and hanging out with her sweet dog, Smokey

Annie

Annie

Meet Annie. Annie is from Fernley but living in Reno attending UNR. She came to A Plus Animal Hospital in July of 2009 as a part – time pet care attendant with the ambition of beginning in an animal hospital and pursuing a career in medicine. She is currently taking Pre-Vet classes at UNR. Definitely an animal enthusiast, at home Annie has 3 dogs, 1 horse, 1 cat, 6 chickens, and 2 goats.

Sass

Sass

Sass came to us in January of 2010 to gain some experience in the veterinary world. She currently works as a Pet Care Attendant, but is currently studying to be a Veterinary Technician. Sass is originally from Canada and is fluent in French and English and has recently become a United States Citizen. She is a military spouse who, in her free time, enjoys spending time with her husband and pets. At home, she has a kitty named Dexter and she is pictured with her dog, a Blue Heeler mix named Oreo.

Grooming Personnel

Tammy

Tammy

Tammy has been working for A Plus Animal Hospital since August of 2004 but has been a professional groomer since 1986. She works with all breeds of canines and claims that every type is fun to groom. She has been known to groom a few kitties too but is not currently accepting new feline clients.
